Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience: A Must-See for GOT Fans! by Donna John

HBO’s Game of Thrones sucked me in. I’m addicted; one of millions who is counting down the days until July 16 when season seven premieres. But a couple months ago, my daughters and I got a dose – a musical dose, to be exact – of the world of Westeros. The Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience hit arenas around the country starting in February 2017 and wrapped up in April.

The visual experience, accompanied by Game of Thrones composer Ramin Djawadi and his larger-than-life musical scores, brought fans even closer to the characters we’ve come to love – or despise. Stages spin, 3D designs and people rise from the stage floor, “snow” and “fire” float from overhead (aka confetti) and scenes from the series play on huge LED screens. Your eyes are constantly darting from place to place to try and take everything in that is happening in front of you. Ramin Djawadi conducts a full orchestra and choir, and musicians play exotic instruments that may have come from King’s Landing, Winterfell or Casterly Rock (or so we hope).

Needless to say, we enjoyed every minute and got a review of the entire six seasons – all while sipping a glass of Cabernet. Can’t beat that. There’s no word yet if the tour will add new show dates, but if they do, be sure you’re first in line to get your tickets. Send a raven if you have to.
