Infant & Toddler Fever: How to Handle Your Child's Temperature When Sick! by Greta Kreuzer
As the founder of a vital signs measurement company, I know that when your toddler or infant have a fever it's not easy to know the best way to handle the situation. Fever, starting at 101.3 degrees F, helps little bodies to fight against infections or viruses, so you shouldn't be keen on bringing the temperature down to normal level. On the other side, too high temperatures, well above 102.2 degrees F, can become dangerous very fast.
Try wet clothes on the forehead or antipyretic medication suitable for children to bring temperature down in this case. Also, you should be aware that the same temperature level for an infant needs a different level of urgency from your side than a toddler’s. Infants up to 3 months should be already examined by a pediatrician when having a temperature of higher than 100.4 degrees F.
