Ingredients

1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup half and half
4 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons pumpkin puree
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
pinch of sea salt
1 tablespoon vanilla

Here's how to make it:

Put all the ingredients except the vanilla into a saucepot over medium-low heat. Cook, stirring, for about 5 to 6 minutes. (Use canned pumpkin puree, not pumpkin pie filling. You could use pumpkin pie spice instead of the cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger. Use about 1 teaspoon.)
Add the vanilla and cook another 1 to 2 minutes or until desired thickness.
Serve or pour into a mason jar. Cool then refrigerate until ready to use. This recipe can easily be doubled or tripled.
