You are pulling into your driveway with the perfect live Christmas tree strapped to the top of you car. Though it may be a sight to behold, it’s also a potential fire hazard. Before you even enter your house:

• Cut off the bottom of the trunk to ensure it will absorb water.
• Make sure that tree stand is always filled with water, especially if you have thirsty pets. 
• Place the tree away from portable heaters and fireplaces.
