Cookie Butter Dump Cake Recipe: A Tik Tok-Famous Baker’s Cakes Are a Viral Sensation by Ann Marie G. Halstead

If dump cakes are new, or relatively new, to you, let me share the good news: A dump cake is similar to a cobbler but with a cake-like topping. One "dumps" ingredients into a cake pan without mixing, hence the unusual name. Some recipes call for melted butter to be poured over the cake mix prior to baking, while others call for solid pieces of butter instead (this recipe calls for the latter).

Dump cakes are quick and easy to make, and as far as I can tell, always a crowd pleaser! For this Cookie Butter Dump Cake I must give credit to Tik Tok’s @aquickspoonful. She and her dump cakes are Internet-famous and deservedly so! Serve with vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients

1 layer of Biscoff cookies
2 cans (21 ounces) apple pie filling
1 jar (14 ounces) cookie butter
1 box super moist spice cake mix
1 ½ sticks butter

Here's how to make it:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Layer cookies on the bottom of a 9 x 13 baking pan. Cover with apple pie filling and cookie butter. Top with cake mix. Don’t mix it!

Slice one and a half sticks of unsalted butter into thin pieces and place on top of the cake mix in rows. Bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Serve with vanilla ice cream, if desired.
